The Safari Team: Food with Personality!

Why should food be boring?
(Seriously, have you ever looked at a carrot and thought, Wow, what an exciting vegetable! No? Exactly.)

At Safari Bites, we don’t just teach kids about food—we turn it into an adventure.
And every adventure needs a team.

That’s where The Safari Team comes in.

Think of them as your personal food guides, your snack spirit animals, your culinary sidekicks—here to help kids understand what they’re eating, why it matters, and how food fuels their daily adventures (whether that’s conquering a math test, surviving gym class, or just staying awake through an afternoon of learning).

Madhav came up with this idea because, well, he’s 9, and 9-year-olds are way more creative than adults.

Here’s how it works: each food category gets its own Safari animal, because animals are cool, and also because it makes learning about food way more fun.

Meet The Safari Team!

Tiger – Healthy Snacks That Keep You Strong

Tigers are powerful, fast, and, let’s be honest, kind of terrifying. (Would not recommend running into one in the wild.) But what makes them so strong? Their fuel. Tiger-approved snacks are all about giving your body the energy and nutrients it needs to grow, run, jump, and do other cool things—like lifting your backpack without toppling over.
Examples: Fruits, veggies, nuts, and all the things your parents tell you to eat (except now we’ll make them delicious).

Cheetah – Fun Treats for Quick Energy

Cheetahs are the fastest land animals, which means they need quick bursts of energy to zoom from one place to another. Cheetah snacks are fun, fast, and designed for action. They don’t weigh you down, but they do keep you moving. So whether you’re running laps in P.E. or just racing your friend to the cafeteria, Cheetah’s got your back.
Examples: Trail mix, dried fruit, granola bars—snacks that keep you light but unstoppably speedy.

Lion – Juices to Keep You Hydrated

Lions may be called the kings of the jungle, but do you know what they do most of the time? Nap. That’s right. Lions spend about 20 hours a day resting—which means they’re smart enough to know that staying hydrated is key to survival. Lion drinks are all about keeping your energy up and your thirst down. Whether it’s juice, infused water, or a smoothie, these drinks keep you feeling like a king (or queen) of the jungle.
Examples: Fresh fruit juices, smoothies, herbal teas—basically, not soda.

Penguin – Snacks That Are Just Plain Fun

Why is there a penguin in this lineup? Good question. Penguins don’t live on safaris, and they’re not particularly strong or fast. But they are playful, social, and always sliding around making people laugh—which is exactly what Penguin-approved snacks are for. These are the snacks that bring joy. They’re not about protein or hydration—they’re about happiness. And if you think fun food isn’t important, just try eating plain steamed broccoli while everyone else is having cookies.
Examples: Fun-sized sweet treats, popcorn, dark chocolate—things that make you smile, without overloading on sugar.

Bald Eagle – Protein Snacks to Keep You Focused

Eagles don’t mess around. They soar high, see everything, and stay ridiculously focused on their goals (which is usually food, ironically). Bald Eagle snacks are designed to help you concentrate, think clearly, and stay sharp—perfect for big test days, homework marathons, or just making it through the school day without zoning out.
Examples: Yogurt, nuts, protein balls—brain fuel that actually works.

So, What’s the Big Idea?

The Safari Team is our way of making food fun, easy to understand, and exciting for kids.

(Also, Madhav really wanted to give snacks their own personalities, and honestly, we’re here for it.)

Right now, The Safari Team is part of our cooking classes—helping kids recognize different types of foods and how they affect their energy, mood, and health. But in the future?

We dream of turning this into actual snack products.
Yes. Safari Bites snacks. In vending machines. In lunchboxes. Everywhere.

Imagine walking up to a machine and choosing a Cheetah Energy Snack or a Lion Hydration Drink. Sounds cool, right?

We think so too.

Until then, we’ll keep exploring, tasting, and learning—one bite-sized adventure at a time.

Stay tuned for more Safari magic!
